It's ON: Paul vs Tyson

Tonight at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, the 27 year old Jake Paul will take on 58-year old Mike Tyson (once the most feared boxer in the world). The fight will be broadcast on Netflix. It's not publicly known what the fighters are being paid, but USA Today says

...boxing industry experts have estimated Tyson could make somewhere in the range of $20 million. At an Aug. 18 news conference promoting the fight, Jake Paul offered a clue to what his payout might be. "I'm here to make $40 million and knock out a legend," he said.

Just One Thing: Trump doesn't care what they think

Donald Trump is making clear in his recent picks that not only does he not care what Democrats want, not only does he not care what Republican politicians want, but he doesn’t even care what his top advisors want. No, he aims only to do two things: Please his MAGA base and, when it comes to the DC bureaucracy, burn it all down. It’s absolutely true that Hegseth and Gabbard and Gaetz and now RFK Jr, his recent controversial nominees, want to burn it all down. And for the record, I want to burn a lot of it down. Our government borders on the tyrannical too often, and too often it crosses that border. I just don’t know that these are the people to get it down. The swamp beat Trump the first time; he’s trying to win the rematch.

I think RFK's many years of lies about vaccines causing autism, which he had to know wasn't true, will be a challenge for him to overcome to gain confirmation but that doesn't mean he can't.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis is enthusiastic:

I like this pick a lot though I would have preferred to see Burgum as Secretary of Energy. Well, maybe I'll change my mind after I see who Trump chooses for that job. Hey, what about Chris Wright from here in Denver?: Trump announces Doug Burgum as his pick for interior secretary

He's made a career out of lying to people and getting the gullible to support him. I'm not talking about RFK Jr., but rather the truly reprehensible Alex Jones. I can hardly think of a more fitting outcome for his loathsome and mendacious "InfoWars" website:

There will be an automatic recount but this is exactly the kind of result that would not have happened if GOP's claims of voter fraud were real, and thank goodness this (seems to have) happened because Steph Vigil is one of the most radical leftists in the legislature (right after Epps and Hernandez, both of whom lost the primaries so didn't make it to the general election.)

And this: State Representative - District 19 - Election Night Reporting

If these results stand, the GOP will have picked up 3 seats in the State House of Representatives, meaning that Democrats no longer have a "supermajority" that could override a governor's veto.

The payment to Oprah Winfrey's production company doesn't bother me (other than as a waste of money, but I'm fine with Harris having wasted her donors' money), but the payment to Al Sharpton stinks:

I hope that Trump's Attorney General (who will not be named Matt Gaetz) quashes all of this and I hope Congress changes these stupid laws. I hate this arrest. Hate this petty tyranny. Stop protecting Americans from themselves and stop pretending that betting on elections will somehow corrupt elections (especially for very large elections...it's like arguing that betting on the Super Bowl will somehow corrupt the game. Theoretically possible but in practice close to impossible, and elections are even more difficult to manipulate despite the claims of too many of a particular political persuasion.)
