A BUFFS FAN GETS A DREAM FULFILLED Riley Rhoades, a 72-year-old lifelong University of Colorado Buffalo fan from Loveland, Colorado will be granted his ultimate wish: to return to a CU Buffs game at Folsom Field. This is due to Jeremy Bloom’s Wish of a Lifetime, a charitable affiliate of AARP that grants life-changing wishes to older adults and inspires people to redefine aging in America. Riley Rhoades is known for his quiet demeanor and generous nature. Despite facing significant challenges, including a diagnosis of End Stage Renal Failure that requires frequent treatment and a lifelong battle with spina bifida, Riley is committed to spreading happiness in his assisted living community. Though he doesn’t hold an official title, he has embraced the role of resident jokester, routinely posting funny cartoons and sharing stories to brighten others’ days. Riley's resilience and indomitable spirit shine through, as he continues to uplift those around him.
The Colorado Buffaloes have gotten Riley through all of his hardships. Riley’s love for the Buffs began in childhood and blossomed when he moved to Fort Collins in 1976. For nearly three decades, he was a devoted season ticket holder, witnessing the golden eras of the team, including Heisman Trophy winners and championship titles. Although he hasn’t attended a game at Folsom Field since 2004, Riley’s passion for the Colorado Buffaloes remains strong. Remembering the feeling of the roar of the crowd, the excitement of the game, and the camaraderie of fellow fans from years before, Riley asked Wish of a Lifetime from AARP to help his dream become reality, and it is finally coming true. After 20 years, he will be attending a game on November 16th. I'm talking to Riley and the woman who nominated him, Tammi Lehto today at 1. Nominate someone in your life here.

SO MORE STOLEN BALLOTS MAY HAVE BEEN COUNTED IN MESA COUNTY Can we stop with the "gold standard" crap when it comes to our elections? Police have nabbed two women in Mesa county who were responsible for the 12 stolen ballots, three of which were counted. But wait, there's more! There were actually about TWENTY ballots that were stolen, meaning eight more made it through without being caught. That means that MORE THAN HALF made it through fraudulently. This should be the biggest story in the state right now. I'd love to know what party they are registered in, wouldn't you?
THE COLORADO LEGISLATURE REMAINS LARGELY THE SAME In terms of the Democrats having a supermajority in the House while falling just shy of that status in the Senate. Read it here. It sure would be nice if we had a functioning Republican party to fight to even things out again. Too bad.
HURD KEEPS THE THIRD Businessman and all around nice guy Jeff Hurd finally got word that he beat Democratic challenger Adam Frisch in the 3rd Congressional district formerly held by Lauren Boebert. That is great news for the House of Representatives and the GOP majority, which it appears poised to do though some races are still being decided.
RECREATIONAL POT BOTH PASSED AND FAILED IN THE SPRINGS Ugh, this is stupid. Colorado Springs voters passed two initiatives about recreational pot with about the same margins. One amends the city's charter to forbid recreational marijuana sales in the city limits. The other allows pot shops selling medicinal marijuana to sell recreational weed. Which will be in force? Well the prohibition one is part of the city charter so I'm guessing it gets supremacy. We'll see how they sort this out.
I JUST CAN'T WITH THESE CRYING VIDEOS Oh my goodness, there are a LOT of left wing people crying on the internet. I don't mean whining crying, I mean turning the camera on themselves to film themselves crying and then putting it on the internet. I just can't, you guys. When did crying in public become a desirable thing? When did showing yourself being upset become content creation? I freaking HATE THIS and I'm going to tell you why. I'm doing my best to be kind but someone needs to tell these people the truth. If you don't know what I'm talking about this is a good example.
NO, IT'S NOT AN ISM THAT KEPT KAMALA OUT Watching the left wing media (but then I repeat myself) melt down over Donald Trump's election has been very interesting because they really, truly don't understand that their entire narrative that Trump is racist/sexist/homophobic fell apart based on who voted for Trump. This article does a great roundup. She was a truly terrible candidate with no clear message other than she wasn't Trump and if you didn't vote for her you were insert-ism-here. Not a winning message.
WE FINALLY KNOW WHY THE RTD CHIEF WAS FIRED And from his termination letter it looks like good riddance to bad rubbish. 9news got a copy of the letter, which you can read here, when the ex-Chief decided to sue over his firing, alleging racial discrimination of course. Really, dude? The sad part is he will probably get some sort of settlement because that's what happens when you are incompetent and work for government. The rotten cream always rises, doesn't it? Check this list of alleged missteps:
Driving 100+ mph in an RTD Police vehicle on 23 occasions.
Approving a business trip paid for by a vendor after it was rejected for ethical reasons.
Improperly trying to purchase firearms with an RTD expense card.
Intervening in internal affairs investigations.
Creating a policy discouraging staff from seeking guidance from RTD's legal counsel.
Authorizing a police department employee to use his RTD patrol vehicle for personal use.
Instructing that RTD Police continue to hire despite concerns the department was over budget.
And he thinks RTD is at fault. Sure. The worst part about his racial discrimination claims is he was probably hired at least in part BECAUSE he was black but he didn't sue over that.
WWHY ARE SO MANY WOMEN HOOKING UP WITH TEEN BOYS? I feel like there has been a rash of stories about female teachers being arrested for hooking up with students. That is called "sexual assault" when an adult in a power position uses that position to groom a child. And these teen boys are CHILDREN. Now we have another story where a social worker in JeffCo is being accused of a sexual relationship with a teen at one of the schools where she worked. Why do women think this is okay? We're all horrified and angry when a man does this to a teen girl, why is this different? To any Boy Mom this is just gross.
SCOTT JENNINGS EXPLAINS TRUMPS VICTORY PERFECTLY Just watch this.
MICHAEL SHELLENBERGER GOES EVEN FURTHER This thread is so, so, so good and I would urge anyone confused about how Trump won to read this entire thing.
2025 SHOULD BE THE YEAR OF MEN This column is SO, SO good. It is about men feeling left behind by our social justice warrior culture that deems them the root of all evil. I love this part so much:
There is nothing wrong with society intentionally encouraging men to aspire to a life that is good, and noble and praiseworthy. Yearning to provide for a spouse and children is not selfish patriarchy; it’s servant leadership filled with profound meaning and value.
Let’s help them find fulfilling work, no matter the salary attached. Let’s honor the trades and men who get dirty at family-sustaining jobs. Let’s stop the coddling of men living on the public dole and show that there is purpose and dignity in all work. And that there is dissipation and despair in useless idle isolation.
Sean Duffy is spot on, it's time to end the war on men.
THIS MADE ME LAUGH REALLY HARD TODAY Gotta love the Babylon Bee
WHO SHOULD BIDEN PARDON? I watched some CNN last night and at one point, the question was asked if Joe Biden should pardon his son Hunter Biden before he leaves office. Chris Wallace was honest in saying if it were him, he would. To be honest, if it were me I would too. This column from National Review says Biden should pardon Trump before he leaves office and it makes a good case. Just as Gerald Ford stepped in to save the country from even more divisiveness after Watergate by pardoning Nixon, so should Biden so we can all move on. Let's see just how much he meant his prior statements promising to unify the country.
GEORGE CLOONEY IS TO BLAME As Democrats struggle to figure out why they lost so handily they are looking to blame anything other than their lousy candidate and zero policy messages. Read how they are blaming George Clooney for the loss, which is comical. Do they really think Joe Biden would have won? That is simply delusional. Or maybe Joe Biden is to blame, as Politico points out here. How about they blame the Democrat machine that hid Joe Biden's decline for as long as they could before they stabbed him the back to ignore millions of votes so they could install a candidate they thought could win on identity politics alone? Just a suggestion.
A NEW BREATHALYZER CAN DETECT LUNG CANCER Boy howdy this is cool.
PORSCHE DITCHES ITS EV PLANS As the reality that buyers don't want electric vehicles takes hold more carmakers are backing away from their ambitious plans to go all electric. The latest is Porsche, and look at this quote:
“A lot of customers in the premium and luxury segment are looking in the direction of combustion-engined cars, there’s a clear trend,” Meschke said.
We've run out of early adopters apparently.

NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES LEAD TO BIG CHANGES You know I'm obsessed with Near Death Experiences (NDEs) so of course I'm reading an article about the difference between NDEs and Life Threatening Experiences (LTEs). Studies show they are NOT the same at all, with people who experience NDEs being far more likely to make significant changes in their lives. Read it here, I have Arod tracking down the head of the group who did the study now.

READING TOO MUCH INTO DUMB KIDS AND DANGEROUS TIK TOK CHALLENGES A couple of psychiatrists are positing that when kids do dangerous TikTok challenges it might be a suicide attempt. I have a much different view, and that is kids simply do not think they can die. Period. It never occurs to them that death is a possibility. It's just beyond their scope. You can read it here but I think I'm right.
