That is the ONLY way the teachers unions will stop trying to destroy the robust and wildly successful charter school system we have here in Colorado. A majority of the schools in the top ten in Colorado are charter schools are private schools and the teachers unions HATE THIS because they can't control either. Public Schools Strong, the issue committee opposed to Amendment 80, the school choice amendment, comes in second in the last two weeks with $1.13 million raised. Big donors include the National Education Association, at $1 million and the American Federation of Teachers at $100,000. That brings the committee's total to $4.9 million.

PUEBLO'S REPUBLICAN MAYOR ACTING LIKE A DEMOCRAT There was much celebrating when traditionally blue Pueblo elected a Republican mayor but now there are questions about how Republican she actually is. Heidi Ganahl writes here about a kerfuffle during a meeting of Republicans in Pueblo and the fact Mayor Heather Graham endorsed Democrat Adam Frisch in the 3rd Congressional district. With the balance of power in the House of Representatives at stake now is not the time to support the other team. I voted for Lauren Boebert for goodness sake. Heidi speculates this is revenge against Republicans who didn't back Graham in the primary but someone needs to get to the bottom of this and fix it.

A PHONE BOOTH IN A CEMETERY DOESN'T RING TRUE FOR SOME I kind of love this story. A woman who lived the last part of her life has a very unique headstone at a Hillside Cemetery in Silverthorne. The bright red British phone box has a phone attached to nothing in it, but the woman who brought it there thought it may inspire some conversations with the people we've lost. Check this out:
The dying woman ordered the box from a company in Connecticut which creates phones designed for people to connect with loved ones who have died. The awkward package was delivered while she was away on a trip and friends surprised her by placing it on a serene slope with a view of the San Juan Mountains. Brockman was still alive to witness the controversy her memorial stirred up between Silverton’s old-timers and newcomers. In an op-ed explanation to the local Silverton Standard newspaper, Brockman wrote: “I envisioned the Hillside Wind Phone not as a monument to me when this cancer kills me, but as a gift to those who visit the cemetery, including my friends and family, but more importantly to all.”
Well all are not happy, with some of the more traditional residents in town saying it's an eyesore at the centuries old cemetery. I say you should put up whatever you want as a memorial. I love a cemetery with over the top and grand headstones and monuments. Now this has me thinking about what sort of monument I would have if I were to have one.

The National Institute of Health gave a pantload of money to a gender affirming doctor to study the actual impact of puberty blockers on the mental health of trans children. The "experiment" ended YEARS ago but the doctor has not released the study and its results. When asked about it, she said in an interview she didn't want the study "politicized" against the care she gives children that sterilizes them permanently. That alone should indicate that the kind of medicine she is STILL PRACTICING is not medically sounds. These people are monsters.
