7/11/24 Blog: Maybe a Short Show If Any At All But A Blog Anyway!

IF YOU HEAR ME SAY THIS, I'VE GOT A SHOW! If not, here is a bunch of stuff to keep you busy while baseball is on.

WE'LL BE AT THE RNC NEXT WEEK!

I'M BEGINNING TO THINK THE DEMS WANT BIDEN OUT As they are working overtime to message to him that he is done, stick a fork in the old man. His goose is cooked. Now a Democratic Senator has openly called for him to step down (note, not a prominent Democrat up for re election, one from New Hampshire who just joined the Senate in 2023), along with George Clooney and eight members of the House. Even San Fran Nan has turned on him, saying "We're all encouraging him to make that decision because the time is running short," even though he has said over and over again he's staying in the race. But that's not all. Clooney's Op Ed has set the Hollywood class afire, after attempts to stop him from publishing it by Jeffrey Katzenberg failed. You can read the Op Ed here, but apparently after agreeing to host that massive fundraiser where Obama had to lead Joe offstage, Clooney has had enough and wants new blood.

JUST WATCH JAKE TAPPER'S FACE HERE When the reporter says that the White House's response to George Clooney's Op Ed was to basically call out Clooney's stamina and to imply Biden's was better. Just watch his face.

ET TU, CHUCK U? Senator Chuck Schumer, one of the slimiest politicians out there, is saying in public he's all here for the Old Man but is telling donors in private he's be open to replacing Biden. He's a snake in the grass to his own party. Rush was right to nickname him Chuck U Schumer years ago.

FUNDRAISING HAS DRIED UP FOR BIDEN And this might be the thing that actually forces him out. Big money donors have stopped giving according to insiders so it will be interesting to see their next fundraising report.

CHUCK TODD CONFIRMS WHAT WE ALREADY KNEW And that is he is a hopeless partisan who participated in the Don't Ask, Don't Tell game about the President's fitness. In his podcast no one listens to, he admitted that he was told TWO YEARS ago by a Cabinet member that Biden would not be able to run again. But that's not all Chuck had to say, he took Biden out at the knees.

Jon Caldara breaks down the chances of Polis being made VP here, and he's not wrong on any of this.

IT'S SO BAD FOR BIDEN THE NEW YORK TIMES IS FACT CHECKING HIM NOW And not kindly. They are calling him out on his missteps and lies from his interview with George Snuffaluffagus.

DEMS ARE DRIVING JEWS OUT OF THE PARTY This story from the New York Post about Jews who have become Republicans because of October 7th and the reaction to it is interesting. Even though some of them are staunch progressives who have been involved in progressive causes their entire adult lives, they are voting for their own security as Jews and express the same sentiment:

“My number one priority is overall safety and security for myself as a Jewish person,” Faiella said. “If your basic 101 safety isn’t in place, then you can’t really advocate for any additional rights.”

In that she is exactly right.

THE TRUTH ABOUT ELECTRIC VEHICLES DEMANDS One of the big problems with the pitch to switch to an electric vehicle is that it is NOT a one for one switch. An electric vehicle requires a LOT of electricity, which right now we can't supply if everyone bought an electric car. Read this from Real Clear Wire:

The average American household without an in-home EV charging station consumes about 30 kWh per day, or about 10,720 kWh over a year’s time. With just one electric vehicle being charged at home, that total increases to about 15,220 kWh. For two-EV households, that total runs up to nearly 20,000 kWh per year (assuming both drivers commute to work). That’s nearly double current electricity usage for such families.
Without an EV in the garage, air conditioning uses nearly a fifth of household electricity, followed by space heating and water heating (a combined 25%). But adding just one home-charged EV changes that calculus dramatically. The EV takes up about 30% ot the much higher total electricity use, dropping the share for all other uses significantly.
Two home-charged EVs would eat up nearly half the household’s total electricity usage – and require thousands of dollars to upgrade the house’s electric panel. Today’s 50-kva transformers, which cost about $8,000 each, can power about 60 homes; that number drops closer to 40 if each of those homes houses one electric vehicle, closer to 30 with two EVs using home chargers.
For a city with 120,000 homes, which today may require about 2,000 transformers, the addition of 120,000 home-charged electric vehicles means adding 1,000 transformers, about $8 million. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg, because distributing 50 to 100% more household electricity requires generating 50 to 100% more electricity.

HAS DOWNTOWN HIT ROCK BOTTOM WITH OFFICE VACANCIES? Denver office vacancies hit 23.5% in the first quarter, which is really terrible. There is a glimmer of hope though, in the total net absorption rate, which was positive for the first time since 2022. That means that more office space was rented then was vacated and it's a positive sign.

HAVE YOU WATCHED DEVASTATED YET? It's the documentary done by my friend Steffan Tubbs about the Fentanyl crisis in Colorado and it's amazing and you should watch it here.

THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA SHOWS HOW TO HANDLE PROTESTERS As they have withheld the diplomas of two grad students who were arrested protesting on campus. This is my favorite line in the story:

“This is not complicated,” Associate Vice President of Communications Steve Orlando said after the April arrests. “The University of Florida is not a day care, and we do not treat protesters like children—they knew the rules, they broke the rules, and they’ll face the consequences.”

If only the leadership at the Auraria campus had displayed this much common sense.

HERE MARK, HAVE A FRY With one simple gesture a family shows how they grieve for the loss of their father but still find a way to make it light and fun. The family visits dad, who died 13 years ago, every major holiday, including Father's Day, where this happened. Watch below or click here.

RIP SHELLY DUVALL The quirky actress, who has been out of the public eye for a very long time now, died at her home in Texas at the age of 75. Read more here.

IS HIV OVER? A new class of preventive drugs are showing to be remarkably effective at preventing HIV. Now a new twice yearly injectable drug has been shown to be 100% effective in early trials at preventing HIV infection.

NEW SCAMS ARE HITTING HOMEOWNERS And some of these are VERY clever and convincing. Read them here and be warned.
