IT'S TIME TO GET SERIOUS ABOUT KID SCREEN TIME The warnings have been out there for years, but now a very long term study that started in the 1970s shows a pretty definitive connection between kids who spend too much time watching tv and not playing or doing something active and adulthood obesity. The study started in 1973 and followed the kids until they were 45 years old and found this:
Children and teenagers who spent more time watching television had less efficient oxygen use during exercise, higher blood pressure, and higher rates of obesity in mid-adulthood, even when accounting for sex, childhood body mass index and the family's economic situation, the study published in Pediatrics says.
Now think about how much MORE time kids spend on screen NOW compared to the seventies and we've got a situation brewing. Now Giuliani casually admits he lied in a court pleading in the defamation case that has been filed by the women. He says he lied but they can't prove that his lies actually harmed them. He's gone full scumbag. Does this change the mind of any Trumpets still clinging to the notion that there was massive voter fraud in Georgia? I doubt it. They stopped paying attention to anything that could dissuade them long ago.

We had to SUFFER and often sing the wrong lyrics for YEARS before someone corrected us. ABOUT THE SWITCH TO HEAT PUMPS FOR COLORADO A new study the Denver Gazette board writes about here shows the folly of an all electric future for heating our homes. From the editorial:
As reported in The Gazette this week, research by Colorado’s largest public utility, Xcel Energy, and the federal government’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, looked at the viability of heat pumps for space heating and for their potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The study found that air-source heat pumps perform up to 10% less efficiently at higher altitudes and cannot heat effectively at temperatures below 40 degrees.
We've got the double whammy here. So what do the geniuses say we should do? Have TWO heating systems for our homes, both gas and heat pump. That's the dumbest, most expensive and unnecessary solution I've ever heard. I'll keep my gas furnace, thank you very much.

SINEAD O'CONNOR SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN AN APOLOGY When she ripped up a photo of the Pope as a protest against the way the Church covered up, hid and moved priests who abused thousands of mostly boys she paid a heavy price. She was excoriated by the press, the world, and the industry she worked in. She was right. I believe she probably took her own life after struggling with mental health and the suicide of her 17 year old son earlier this year or simply died of a broken heart. This is a great tribute to her. I loved her music and it was an important part of my life. This song inspired a nickname my friends still use.
DPS IS UNREPENTANT ABOUT BREAKING OPEN MEETING RULES And of course Tay Tay is using this as an excuse to dethrone "First Elected Indigenous Person" Sochi Gaytan.
