THANKS FOR ALL THE PRAYERS AND WELL WISHES! That month flew by for me to be honest, as I managed to get a lot of stuff done after the first two weeks of not being allowed to do much. You'll hopefully not notice much of a difference with my voice, but it is not as strong as it will eventually be just yet. I will be outsourcing the Of the Day intro for some time. I will also have a co-host for the first week as I'm still not up to 100% and today you get to hear my husband Chuck do the show. It should be fun, but there will be a couple of small changes for the next few weeks and I appreciate your patience as I sort out how to do the show and not re injure my voice!

CAN WE TALK ABOUT TRUMP FOR A MINUTE? It is baffling to me why otherwise intelligent people are sticking with Trump at this point. When the corrupt DoJ leaked the audio of Trump showing off classified documents to a reporter (though he says he was showing newspaper clippings of a plan so private he mentioned it was highly confidential, which makes no sense) it was another example of how corrupt the DoJ AND Donald Trump are. His ego is so enormous that he was trying to save face with a reporter about a plan to attack Iran that wasn't made public EVER. And yet, he is still the leading candidate for the GOP nomination. I don't get it, I'll never get it and I need someone to explain this to me. His consigliere has pleaded not guilty but is he going to prison for decades to protect Trump? I sure as hell wouldn't. Former fixer Michael Cohen issued a warning to Walt Nauta about him expecting to pay legal fees: he won't. Did you know that Trump posted former President Barack Obama's address on his Truth social platform? One guy saw it and showed up with a bunch of guns in his van. I do not want Trump to be the nominee. I want someone who can do the things Trump did policy-wise without the drama and legal issues, is that so hard?
ABOUT THOSE SUPREME COURT DECISIONS This session of the court went pretty much the way I thought it would and good. I've been saying for years to the Gay Mafia who keep prodding Christians to do things they don't want to do that the Gay Mafia would lose when it reached the Supreme Court. Freedom of religion is literally IN the Constitution whereas wedding cakes and websites are not. I do find this column by George Brauchler pointing out the many times our Attorney General has been on the wrong side of history in this SCOTUS session amusing. It's as if our AG has never read the Constitution at all. Freedom is messy, and I know there are tons and tons of providers who will be happy to make a cake, or build a website for any gay person out there. If I were one, I'd put a huge WE HAPPILY SERVE ALL at the top of my own website right now. But you can't force someone to say or support something they don't and no one should be arguing that they government should be able to do so.
THEY ARE COMING FOR YOUR LAWNMOWER At least if you own or use a gas powered mower, that is. In an effort to improve Denver's historically bad summer air quality some unelected board will decide whether or not to ban gas powered lawn equipment. You can read about it here, but if they really want to make a difference they need to ban California and Canadian wildfires. Just saying.
DENVER TURNS IT'S BACK ON AURORA COPS Denver and Aurora Police Departments have had a long standing arrangement that if either city needs help, the other will provide officers to assist. Now Aurora says they want out after Denver hung their officers out to dry when it comes to lawsuits stemming from the George Floyd protests and riots in downtown Denver. Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman says the mutual aid agreement includes indemnification, which would require Denver to pick up the associated costs with these lawsuits, but Denver says no. Aurora's City Council will vote to end the agreement and is now suing Denver, as they should.
NO, YOU CAN'T CHASE SOMEONE DOWN AND SHOOT THEM A man is charged with first degree murder after he jumped in his car to chase two idiot teenaged boys who were trying to steal his car. This is a much different situation than the one where the owner of a stolen Audi exchanged gunfire with the thieves who successfully stole his car. This guy interrupted the theft of his car and when the suspects took off in a different stolen car he got in his car, chased them down and then fired into the car, killing one of the kids. If he'd taken a concealed carry class he would have known this is murder, but now he gets to find out in court. Idiot kids, idiot man.
COLORADO WORKERS ARE SEEING PAY INCREASES BUT... Is it enough to keep up with our insane cost of living? My younger son it getting ready to move out of the state, as he doesn't see how he can ever get ahead with the insane cost of living here. We are supporting him in this because I don't see it either. This article says Coloradans saw their pay increase 7.4% but we know that is not nearly enough to cover what inflation has done to us. Read more here.

COLORADO IS DROUGHT FREE BUT THIS STORY WILL KEEP YOU NERVOUS this is an odd bit of reporting in how it is couched. The good news is for the first time since 2019, but don't get complacent because surely our megadrought is going to return right around the corner is the theme. Why not just be happy we're drought free for a hot minute? Why not just let nature do what nature is going to do, which is inevitably return to the drought-not-drought cycle we've always been in? If you want to remember to be terrified, just read this.
KING SOOPERS SUCKS WHEN IT COMES TO SHOPLIFTING Yesterday I pulled into my local Walmart and saw a swarm of police cars around a vehicle and a short woman being cuffed. When I asked a woman inside if they busted someone for shoplifting she first told me she couldn't say, but then shook her head yes. I was so happy to see that and will continue giving Walmart my business. King Soopers, on the other hand, seems content to let people steal whatever they want to steal without consequences, unless you're an employee who films the scumbags as they steal. That employee has now been fired and when you go to King Soopers the cost of that stolen detergent will be passed on to you as a customer.
DENVER PUBLIC SCHOOLS DOESN'T CARE IF KIDS MISBEHAVE or how badly they misbehave if you pay attention to their discipline matrix. BUT DPS DOES CARE IF YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAID IN A CLOSED DOOR SCHOOL SAFETY MEETING This is absurd. Denver Public Schools is appealing a ruling by a judge that said they must release the transcript of their so-called five hour "executive session" meeting where they eventually decided to bring back school resource officers. The judge, who read the transcript, said the board went well beyond what can be discussed in an executive session and they must release the transcript. The district, where only 5% of black and brown children can read on grade level, is spending more time and money fighting the ruling. They will lose at any court they go to, they just want to kick the can down the road until after the upcoming election. Everyone running for re election should be bounced. I'm just sad Tay Anderson won't be there to bounce out of office, as he not running again. That is good news for kids.
THIS IS WHY NO ONE WANTS A SHELTER IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD The Gathering Place is a lovely building which provides support services to women and children and trans and non binary homeless people, which is nice. Unfortunately for the neighborhood, the homeless people are not paying attention to the rules about loitering after hours and are now setting up camps outside the building. ABOUT JILL SCOTT'S NATIONAL ANTHEM I thought about embedding the celebration of victimhood that actress and singer Jill Scott performed at the Essence Festival but nah. It's too dumb to shared. I don't think it was brave or uplifting, I think it was a bad parody that should be treated as such. Ms. Scott, whose net worth has got to be millions, performs in every venue in this country, she sells thousands of records without worrying about stores refusing to carry her work, but she took the national anthem as a grievance challenge instead. If you don't like the anthem, don't sing the anthem. This is yet another example of how to further fracture the nation. On the other hand, former NBA play Enos Kanter Freedom has issued a challenge to a WNBA player who took the opportunity to complain about the USA over the July 4th holiday. He has offered to buy her a first class ticket to another country where such complaints get your family killed. Read about his offer here, he is spot on. Also over the 4th of July weekend, noted progressive wackos Ben and Jerry sent out a tweet about the United States was created on stolen land that should be given back.
If you click the link in the description, which I did so you don't have to, the tweet is because they want to give back Mount Rushmore to the Native Americans. But here's where it gets good. The tribe from Vermont, where Ben and Jerry's headquarters are located, have said they'd love to have THAT land back from the company. Let's see how far this virtue signaling goes now.

DEAR TREY PARKER AND MATT STONE, THIS ISN'T HOW YOU DO IT Denver and the surrounding areas have been abuzz with excitement over the re opening of Casa Bonita after the famous duo bought it and spent a bunch of money renovating it. So why would that same duo act like such aholes when it comes to art depicting the iconic business? That's what they've done to a local artist who has been hit with a cease and desist over a cartoon of Casa Bonita for copyright infringement. This is just stupid and mean spirited and not the way to build goodwill with the community that already adores you, guys. I don't like feeling like Casa Bonita is going to be like Disney and complete jerk to the surrounding community that loves and supports it. Art is art, this is not copyright infringement. This is especially rich considering these two did an entire episode about Casa Bonita where the facade of the building is clearly shown multiple times. Stop it, you two. Just stop it.
THE MISSING JOE BIDEN WHISTLEBLOWER SPILLS THE BEANS ON BIDEN And I watched this with a skeptical eye and this guy names names in a way that I think gives him a lot of credibility. He says he may have to hide the rest of his life. This is worth 15 minutes of your time. You can skip to the 2:45 mark if you want to get to the juicy part where he accuses Hunter Biden of spying for the Chinese, which is what he's accusing the Biden family of doing.
WHO LEFT COCAINE AT THE WHITE HOUSE? I know from talking to people who have worked in DC that a LOT of people there do cocaine. The high stress, long hours nature of the work there lends itself to using drugs to keep up. All that being said, who the BLANK brings cocaine to the freaking White House? The Secret Service says they will crack the case, but if you watch what is above you won't have a lot of faith the truth will ever come out.
