Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett never thought that the topic of a quarterback's wristband would dominate the week leading up to Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans.

"That came out of nowhere," Hackett told Marty Lenz and Mike Rice on KOA's Colorado's Morning News on Friday. "We're in here, trying to find the best way to beat the Tennessee Titans because they're such a great football team. All of a sudden, you're asked questions about a wristband. Not sure how that all started or came about but [I] definitely heard a lot about it."

The origin of it was Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, who told Seattle Sports 710 that Russell Wilson resisted using a wristband when he was with Seattle.

Wilson used a wristband, a cheat sheet of sorts for an NFL quarterback, for the first time this season in the Broncos 21-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on October 30.

We're evaluating everything we do," Hackett told Marty and Mike. "if it's going to help our operation, if it's going to help us get a better play, if it's going to allow us to be more creative, it's something that everybody is always willing to look into and see if it helps. When we proposed it to Russ, he said, 'Yeah.' So we put it on him and we used it a limited amount. Whether that helped us win, I know we're 1-0 with the wristband. It worked out great. There was no comment at all during the bye week."

Coach Hackett also spoke about the hamstring injuries to wide receiver KJ Hamler and fullback Andrew Beck, the rough and tumble running style of Titans running back Derrick Henry and more.

Coverage of the Broncos and Titans game starts at 7 a.m. on Sunday, November 13 on KOA 850 AM and 94.1 FM.
