Colorado State Senator Jim Smallwood represents Senate District 4 in Douglas County. He joins us to help us understand the complex situation of health insurance in Colorado.
On the one hand, the state gov't's Division of Insurance is crowing about lower costs for Coloradans and on the other hand we don't know the cost of the reinsurance they're using to achieve this and a fairly large insurer has just announced that they're pulling out of the employer insurance market in our state.
Again, this is a VERY complex subject and we're going to try to at least understand it a little better.
