IS IT TIME TO RETHINK LETTING YOUR KIDS PLAY FOOTBALL? I grew up where football was king. I have long loved the sport while also recognizing how hard it is on your body. Now we know that Broncos great Demaryius Thomas, who likely died of a seizure when he was 33, had Stage 2 traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a brain disease seen in people with head injuries. We now know that many football players suffer from this and it can lead to paranoia, confusion, depression and other mental health issues. It's got me to thinking, would you let your kid play football now? Knowing what we know? I'm not sure I would, especially when there are so many other great sports for them to play. I'll ask the question on the air today. By the way, I am not suggesting we put an end for football. I am asking if you want YOUR kid to play.

A new study of how porn affects the pleasure centers of our brain shows clearly that people with a chronic porn viewing habit shows those centers light up when porn is consumed, the same way it lights up when you show a drug addict a picture of drugs. The easy access to online porn has done a few things to young men. First it's made them bad at sex because they think porn is real, which is clearly not. Two, it's further created body issues for both young men and girls, who need to know that real people don't look like that. You MUST talk to you kids about porn. You MUST. They are very concerned about losing the younger vote over this issue, but I have to say I think they are counting their chickens on this before they hatch. I'm not sure you're going to see a bunch of women change their votes from Republican to Democrat in conservative states over abortion, and there is a zero percent chance most young women are going to vote Republican anyway so I'm not seeing much swing on this.

A new study showed that just LOOKING at food creates an insulin response that can kick up our inflammation and in obese people it can actually mess with how insulin works in their bodies. Very cool study that could help treat diabetes someday.

OUR TRUST IN OUR INSTITUTIONS IS TANKING And it's no wonder after the last two years that we've had. I would have loved to see a specific question about the CDC but they didn't ask. Gallup has the results here, and this is something to be very concerned about because when our institutions fail, society fails. TARGETS AT A GUN RANGE HAVE CREATED A HUGE PROBLEM FOR ONE POLICE DEPARTMENT A group of Boy Scouts were being given a tour of a training facility for police in Michigan. They were photographed standing in front of the targets that were being used for practice that day. Okay, no big whoop here. Except the targets were all of black men with guns. The department says they use a variety of targets from silhouettes to various people with arms for different types of practice, and that of the targets of people, just 15% are black while the other 85% are not, but of course that doesn't matter. This is a fine example of a mountain being made out of a molehill in my view.
