According to multiple reports, Denver Nuggets President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly is headed to the Minnesota Timberwolves to lead their basketball operations.
Connelly has reportedly agreed to a five-year, $40 million contract that includes an ownership stake in the Timberwolves. Minnesota is in the Northwest division, the same division as the Nuggets.
Connelly took over as the Nuggets Executive Vice President for Basketball Operations and General Manager in June of 2013, taking over for Masai Ujiri, who left to lead the Toronto Raptors. The Nuggets elevated Connelly to President of Basketball Operations in 2017.
Under Connelly's guidance, the Nuggets have made the playoffs in each of the last four seasons.
Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reports the Nuggets are expected to turn to general manager Calvin Booth to head up basketball operations.
