At times, Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar seems super human when he is on the ice.
That's because, well, he is.
Makar's goal at 8:31 of overtime game the Avalanche a 2-1 win over the Nashville Predators and a 2-0 series lead Thursday night at Ball Arena.
Makar picked up a rebound off a blocked shot and whistled the puck past Nashville goalie Conor Ingram, who was fantastic in his postseason starting debut.
The Avs peppered Ingram with 51 shots and he somehow came up with 49 saves.
Makar's 12th shot on goal turned out to be the difference and also set a new Avalanche record for most shots in a playoff game.
In all, Colorado outshot Nashville 51-26. Avs goalie Darcy Kuemper made 25 saves on his 32nd birthday.
Nathan MacKinnon gave the Avalanche a 1-0 lead at 5:25 of the first period. Nashville's Yakov Trenin tied the game at 15:19.
