Predators Rally To Beat Avs In Shootout, 5-4

Nashville Predators forward Mattias Ekholm tied the game with a goal at 4:11 of the third period and the Preds went on to defeat the Colorado Avalanche in a shootout, 5-4, in the regular season home finale for Colorado.

Cale Makar, Arturri Lehkonen and Logan O'Connor all scored a goal for the Avs in the first period and they led 3-1 after one.

The Predators scored twice around a goal by Avs forward J.T. Compher in the second period and Colorado led 4-3 after two periods.

In the shootout, Avs goalie Darcy Kuemper gave up a goal to Nashville's first shooter, Matt Duchene, and Predators goalie David Rittich stopped shots from Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and Nazem Kadri to secure the win.

The Avalanche settles for one point in the overtime loss and sets a new single-season franchise record of 119 points, besting the 188 points set by the 2000-2001 Avs.
