Warriors Open Series with 123-107 Win Over Nuggets

The Golden St. Warriors used a big run to finish out the second quarter and went on to defeat the Denver Nuggets, 123-107, in game one of the first round of the NBA Western Conference playoffs.

Nuggets center Nikola Jokic hit a jumper to give Denver a 43-40 lead with 4_21 to go in the second quarter. But the Warriors closed the period on an 18-4 to take a 58-47 lead at halftime.

The Nuggets could never recover.

Golden St. had a 32-23 advantage in the third quarter to build its lead to 20 points.

Jokic led the Nuggets with 25 points but he needed 25 shots to get there. He finished 12-of-25 from the field and also had 10 rebounds. Will Barton had 24 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Nuggets.

The Nuggets will again be on the road for game two will be on Monday, April 18. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. MDT.
