It was a battle between two of the top teams in the NBA.
And two of the top players in the league, too.
Monday night, the Denver Nuggets went on the road and defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, 114-110.
The Nuggets certainly saved their best for last.
Down 88-81 through three quarters, the Nuggets outscored the 76ers 33-22 in the fourth quarter.
Center Nikola Jokic fell just short of another triple-double finishing with 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.
76ers big man Joel Embiid was also very good, going for 36 points on 11-20 from the field. He added nine rebounds.
As good as those two players are and as much focus as their was on them, Nuggets guard Bones Hyland snuck in and proved to be the key man in Denver's big fourth quarter.
The rookie from Wilmington, Delaware, about 30 miles from Philadelphia, stole the show with four three-pointers in the final quarter. He finished with 21 points and hit four of nine three-point attempts.
The Nuggets snapped their three-game losing streak.
The Nuggets three-game road trip continues against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, March 16 at 5 p.m. MDT.
Postgame comments from Nuggets head coach Michael Malone, guard Bones Hyland, forward JaMychal Green and center Nikola Jokic.
