But in the end, 2nd-ranked Stanford had too much in the second half and beat the Buffs, 63-46, at Maples Pavilion in Palo Alto, California.
CU led, 30-29, at halftime. But then Stanford clamped down.
The Cardinal held the Buffs to only five third quarter points and outscored CU 34-16 in the second half.
Colorado made only 5-of-31 shots (16.1%) in the second half and committed 21 turnovers in the game.
Lesila Finau led CU with 11 points. Mya Hollingshed had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Buffs are now 16-7 overall, 5-7 in Pac-12 play. Stanford is 21-3 and 12-0 in conference.
