I'M SO DISAPPOINTED IN THE 900 TEACHERS WHO HAVE ALREADY SICKED OUT FOR TOMORROW IN DOUGCO They chose to leave our kids without school for the day based on the hearsay of their union overlords. How embarrassing. Because they didn't get their way, because parents rejected the Equity program when they elected the new Board, they are shutting down schools. I'd love them to realize this is EXACTLY how parents felt about being ignored during the old Board. We just didn't think allowing the Union to shut down schools AGAIN was a good idea.
LOVE HER OR HATE HER, LAUREN BOEBERT IS HAULING IN CASH And she's hauled in WAY more than any other Colorado Congressional candidate, with a whopping $3.6 million raised this year alone. She's getting money from all over the place, especially from Republicans who are tired of being kicked around. I can't wait to hear Kyle Clark report on this one. Oh wait, he only obsesses about her when she says something controversial.
WHY DO COLORADO DEMOCRATS HATE TRANSPARENCY? The short answer is they know it's easier to soak us and get away with it if we don't see what's actually going on. What was so controversial in the bills that were killed by Democrats? One would have required the so-called Office of Saving People Money on Health Care to report its funding and activities during annual State Measurement for Accountable, Responsive, and Transparent Government Act hearings. Why? So we could find out if the office actually does what its name implies. Democrats voted no on that. The other would have allowed hospitals to show a separate line on your bill for the Democrat Legislature imposed Hospital Provider Fee. Democrats shot that down too. Why? Because they don't want you angry at THEM for that fee, they are happier when you are mad at the hospital instead.
DENVER'S SCHOOL BOARD IS GOING AFTER INNOVATION SCHOOLS NOW Because they couldn't gut the charter school system without a huge outcry but they needed to throw the teachers unions that got them elected a bone. Now they are moving to remove the exemptions at innovation schools when it comes to teacher union contracts. That's the sole reason they are doing this. There is no crisis at the innovation schools that requires a response. If you've got a kid in an innovation school in Denver, you need to begin talking to your principals NOW about what this will mean at your schools.
IF YOU WANT TO SEE WHAT YOUR KIDS ARE BEING TAUGHT THERE IS A FEDERAL LAW THAT ALLOWS IT I got an email from a Cherry Creek Schools mom that said this:
Cherry Creek refuses to share the teachers guide and resources for the new literacy curriculum. They showed us soon of the books which are all centered around Social Emotional Learning but refuse to show the teacher material.
This is 100% against Federal law. According to this article from the Washington Times, there is a law that allows parents access to it all:
“The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment, 20 U.S.C. § 1232h, is one important — but until now little-used — tool for holding administrators and teachers accountable,” the guide says.
In an interview with the Washington Examiner, Gene Hamilton, America First Legal's general counsel and vice president, said the law had been “on the books for decades” and that it “really provides parents with the ability to access information at a level that we don't think they're aware of right now.”
Under the law, public schools that receive federal funding must disclose to parents “any instructional material used as part of the educational curriculum for the student” and “for inspection” must provide “all instructional materials, including teacher’s manuals, films, tapes, or other supplementary material which will be used in connection with any survey, analysis, or evaluation as part of any applicable program.”
So there you have it. Now you can get access to everything or you can sue.
MORE PROOF OF CRT BEING TAUGHT IN OUR SCHOOLS Please don't let anyone on the left tell you Critical Race Theory is not taught in schools. Sure the lofty academic discussions aren't taught, that would be an improvement over what has actually seeped into our schools. A Riverside, California school lied about their promotion of an essay which demanded that kids judge people, well white people anyway, based SOLELY on their race. They got caught.
