Timberwolves Beat Nuggets, 130-115

The second quarter was the Denver Nuggets undoing on Tuesday night.

The Minnesota Timberwolves turned that big second quarter into a 130-115 win.

Minnesota led 30-28 after one quarter but then outscored the Nuggets 39-23 in the second quarter to take a 69-51 lead at halftime.

Nuggets center Nikola Jokic had 21 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists. Will Barton and Monte Morris each scored 13 points.

Four of Denver's five starters scored in double figures. But the Nuggets bench could not keep up with that of the Timberwolves. Minnesota's reserve players outscored Denver's, 68-39.

Despite the loss, the Nuggets are 4-1 on their six-game road trip. The final game of the trip will be at Utah on Wednesday, February 2 at 8 p.m. MST.
