The Colorado Buffaloes have played better.
But they'll take the win.
The Buffs did enough down the stretch and survived a scare from Eastern Washington in a 60-57 win on Wednesday night at the CU Events Center.
The Eagles led 55-51 after two free throws by Mason Manddeck with 4:35 remaining.
Then CU put the clamps on defensively, holding Eastern Washington to only two points the rest of the way.
Evan Battey hit a layup and a free throw before Jabari Walker hit a layup to give the Buffs a 56-55 lead.
After the game was tied at 57, the Buffs scored the final three points of the game. Battey's layup put CU up 59-57 with 1:31 to go and Walker hit another free throw with 13 seconds left.
Walker was the only CU player to score in double figures. He finished with another double-double, getting 17 points and bringing down 10 rebounds.
The Buffs host Milwaukee on Friday, December 10. Tip-off will be at 7:30 p.m. MST.
