We have a few topics today: 1) A listener question: re the transplant to a human of a kidney grown in a genetically modified pig, could a Jew receive such a transplant? (This in the context of Jews not being allowed to eat pork under "Kosher" rules.) 2) The Rabbi started Clean Speech Colorado. This is its third season and is something I think is particularly valuable at a time of so much societal dysfunction. 3) Why it's a TERRIBLE idea for the Biden Administration to open a Palestinian consulate in Jerusalem.(The good news: it's less than 50/50 to happen, but maybe not MUCH less.)

Kate Carr is president of the Hearing Industries Association and she'll tell us about fantastic changes coming to the OTC hearing aid market that will make getting hearing aids much easier and less expensive for people with mild to moderate hearing loss. Of course people who would lose money with the changes are making their arguments against them.

Returning to the show, education and civil rights attorney Igor Raykin updates us on his lawsuit against Westminster Public Schools for their refusal to offer accommodations to teachers who were granted religious exemptions from getting a COVID vaccination. The school district also tried to muzzle the teachers, a clear violation of the teachers' rights. We may get a chance to ask him about Douglas County as well...see the link below in "Colorado stuff" for more.

If it's bad for kids, let's ban it for everyone!
We talked about this story yesterday: Denver City Council member Amanda Sawyer didn't like it when her 12-year old expressed skepticism that vaping was harmful, so Sawyer decided to propose a ban on the sale of all flavored tobacco and nicotine products -- not just for kids, but for everyone. It's a dumb idea that won't achieve its stated goal but will hurt plenty of businesses and cause people to lose jobs. Today we continue the conversation with Monica, a vape shop owner in Denver who, unsurprisingly, has a lot to say including that Sawyer is lying about enforcement statistics. And although it's underappreciated, how about the right in a free country for adults to do what they like, even if it's risky? (Yes, I understand the argument about the socialization of health risks through health insurance.)

The useful idiots at Bloomberg seem not to understand their role in the so-called unpopularity of the Trump/GOP tax reform which gave the vast majority of Americans a tax cut. If you think it's "unpopular" now just wait until you see what would happen if it were repealed. Anyway, it's interesting that Dems, with full control of the federal government, can't sell their TRULY unpopular massive spending binge.
