Denver police have arrested one of their own. Police arrested officer Johnny Leon-Alvarez for investigation of sexual assault. Leon-Alvarez, 29, was arrested Friday morning. An affidavit indicates the arrest stems from an alleged incident that happened between Leon-Alvarez and a woman after a date. A police statement says Leon-Alvarez has been a Denver police officer since 2018, and that he's been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the case.
